OPERATION SANTA 2009
This is your invitation to be a part of this international project.
Operation Santa has become the largest stocking drive for the troops in the nation. To date almost 70,000 homemade Christmas stockings have been shipped to troops around the globe during the Christmas holidays. Elves are already hard at work sewing stockings for this year's goal of 35,000. Last year our stockings went to not only Iraq and Afghanistan but Kosovo, Kuwait, South Korea, Okinawa, Djibouti, as well as Combat Support Hospitals. Students, churches, civic organizations, seniors, young and old, any and everyone please join us and help spread the word!!!
Operation Santa consists of four avenues of giving:
1. Sewing stockings
2. Collecting stocking stuffers
3. Handwritten cards
4. Donations for shipping
**The stocking pattern can be downloaded from our website https://citizensam.org/ or if you prefer a pattern can be mailed to you by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to the address listed below. Please finish all edges with pinking shears, serge, or right sides together. All seams are ?" and any print fabric can be used except jersey knit or very heavy fabric.
**The items we are collecting can be found on the website.
**We endeavor to put a handwritten note in each stocking and each year we run short of these. We are asking for a simple note of gratitude from students, Sunday school classes, senior groups, civic organizations, individuals, any and everyone.
**Last but not least, we need donations for shipping. Our 2008 postage bill was $65,000. All gifts are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. $30 ships a box of 15 stockings. Checks can be made payable to Operation Santa.
If you have a loved one who will be deployed this holiday, send us their name, address, and how many are serving with him/her. They will be added to our recipient list.
Mail all items to:

During the Christmas holidays we want our Armed Forces serving abroad to know they are not forgotten but rather loved and appreciated for their sacrifice in preserving our freedom!
