A note from Operation Helmetliner Team Leader
I have been overwhelmed with the generosity of folks all over the country. We have been getting helmetliners, scarves and gators in so quickly--almost 1000 pieces just the month of January! I am just now getting caught up from taking over in December. A huge THANK YOU to all who are
participating! The majority of the
items are beautiful and will no doubt keep our beloved troops warm as they serve our country.
There are a couple of items that I would like to touch on. In order to maintain the integrity of the program, we must always be assessing what we can do differently and what we can improve on. When sending in your items, please ponder the following:
Is this item made using the proper medium?
Is it the correct color?
Is it made to the specifications in the pattern, gauge and/or dimensions?
Is it free from dog or cat hair?
Is it smoke-free and odor free?
If you cannot answer yes to all of the preceeding questions, please correct the issue before sending. We cannot send any items on to the troops that are lacking in any of the above questions.
If anyone has a family member, friend or knows of someone who is deployed serving our country and could benefit from receiving a helmetliner, please email me at [email protected]. We have a one for all policy so I will need the number of members in the unit, a name and address to mail it to and the verbal approval from the Commanding Officer that he/she will allow use of the non-military issue helmetliners, scarves or gators.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INVOLVEMENT AND SUPPORT!
