| The fifth annual Operation Santa concluded with a total of 42,400 stockings filled for deployed Armed Forces. The project finished 2 days early and 20% higher than its original goal of 35,000 stockings thanks to 1000's of volunteers from across the country. A total of 50,000 stockings were crafted by our volunteers. The excess will start us towards Op Santa 2010. • The stockings were shipped to Iraq, Afghanistan and numerous destinations in foreign countries • The Peoria Jewish Federation conducted the 2nd annual Operation Macabee and provided 300 Hanukah sacks for Jewish soldiers • Support of two K-9 units totaling 57 four-legged warriors by way of dog beds and treats was part of this year's Operation Santa • Bloomington/Normal stuffed 6104 for their second year • Decatur, Illinois hub held their first annual Op Santa and contributed 1710 stockings Our project now totals over 112,000 stockings to troops serving abroad and is the largest of its kind in the nation.
